Bristol Business Summit

Bristol Business Summit – 27th October 2015

Another great day for Bristol And the BJC…

Last Thursday the Bristol Business Summit was hosted at the Passenger Shed by Mayor Ferguson. BJC members Ben St. Quintin, Sarah Atkinson, Paul Anslow, Lucy Baldwin, Rebecca Kibby, Oliver Brown and Charles Chami attended on behalf of the BJC and were privileged to enjoy an inspiring day of guest speakers, all focusing on the theme of incorporating sustainable practices into their businesses and why it makes business sense to do so. Highlights included Roger Burns from DHL, Carmel McQuaid – Head of Sustainable Business at M&S and Joanna Yarrow, Head of Sustainability at IKEA.

The summit drew to a close with a key note speech from Sir Ranulph Fiennes who delivered an inspirational speech on the factors required to overcome nature’s most dangerous obstacles and how they relate to the challenges faced by business leaders.

Delegates then enjoyed a glass of Somerset Cider whilst they awaited the arrival of city Mayors from around the world, who were invited to attend the Bristol Business Summit last Friday
