This will be my second year with the BJC. Having been working with a former BJC President on a separate initiative, they strongly recommended that I got involved and within a matter of months I was already getting stuck in with events and later joined the committee.
While initially coaxed by a former member (now 39’er) I was really inspired to join the BJC by the variety of events and groups. Also, as a working professional with a busy 9-5+ it was really great to be surrounded by other career driven people with similar responsibilities.
With the limited spare time I have, I would probably choose to spend it walking one of our disobedient dogs in the countryside, followed by a well-deserved trip to the local pub.
This is a tricky one… but I would probably say the Hannover Exchange last year was pretty great, as we went to watch the rugby at Ashton Gate, Wake the Tiger and more than one trip to Kings Street!
The street art! While graffiti is not to everyone’s taste and varies significantly in quality, I do love how this has become synonymous with Bristol’s culture and adds to the vibrancy of areas.
Technically I am a published Poet, having won a competition in school, my poem was later published in a book (hopefully long lost never to the found).
