How long have you been a member of the BJC?

I’ve been a member for 3 years, though that time has flown by!

Why did you join?

I moved out of London a few years ago and wanted to get to know people in the area. I heard about BJC through a work colleague and thought it would be a great way to make some new friends, build my professional network and learn more about Bristol.

Outside of work and the BJC what do you like to do with your spare time?

I love running outdoors, exploring new places, hanging out with friends, visiting museums (huge history nerd at heart), going to the theatre and anything involving food! I’ve recently become an auntie so I adore hanging out my baby niece and trying to convince her that I’m the coolest out of her aunties…

Do you have a favourite event on the BJC calendar?

That’s such a tough one as there are so many great events to choose from! The balloon fiesta is incredible. I went for the first time this year and can thoroughly recommend!

What’s the best thing about Bristol?

I’d say the scale of what’s on offer. There’s so much history and culture, great art, theatre and comedy as well as amazing food markets and restaurants to try. There’s a real buzz about the city but it still feels friendly and approachable.

Tell us an interesting fact about yourself.

When I was backpacking around SE Asia I managed to get a tropical disease but didn’t get diagnosed for months. I managed to fully recover luckily, but it taught me the importance of never taking your health for granted.
