I have been a member of BJC for around 3 years now. I joined the Council of Management in April 2025.
I was introduced to BJC by some colleagues and it sounded like the perfect opportunity to expand my network and get to know individuals in Bristol in other professions (whilst being able to attend lots of fun and interesting events around the city).
I am very into my hot yoga; I love to take my paddleboard down the harbour and in and around Somerset (when the sun makes an appearance); going on as many holidays as my annual leave allows – recent trips include seeing the Northern Lights in Norway and hiking in Utah; and I have recently taken up playing padel (like the rest of the world!)
The Balloon Fiesta! The night glow is a particularly special and memorable night in the BJC calendar. I am particularly looking forward to trying the Bristol Ballon Fiesta/Pasture collab this year!
I have been very settled in Bristol for almost 10 years now – it has everything you need!
There is a great food scene with so many independent coffee shops and restaurants; lovely walks around Ashton Court, Clifton, Harbourside; and plenty of gigs/festivals/events being held throughout the year.
Bristol is also the biggest legal hub in the UK outside of London which makes the city attractive from a work perspective. I also love that I am only a couple of hours drive from Surrey where I grew up.
