I joined BJC in Jan 2023, and joined the Council of Management in April 2023, about 3 months in.
I was encouraged to join by my family. They gave me loads of great stories and advised me in not only getting involved but also getting stuck in and it has been really wise words, it’s true what you put in you get out. I didn’t know many young professionals in Bristol before joining and really wanted to widen my network and grow my skills in a friendly environment and it has helped with exactly that.
Since a very young age I have been an equestrian enthusiast and am most commonly found riding around the lanes of Somerset, and often competing at weekends. In recent years, I have taken up triathlon and enjoy the different elements of training, so if not on a horse, I could be on a bike!
I am currently studying a Master’s Degree in Real Estate too, although, I’m not sure I can claim it’s what I LIKE to do in my spare time.
Last year, I would say my favourite was ‘Members’ Dinner’. It was great to have so many of the members and like minded people in the same room at the same time, it was a super venue, and everyone made such an effort.
Another tough one, the community in Bristol is second to none and the Balloon Fiesta really symbolises that, it blew my mind when I realised not every city grew up with a similar event every year! I also love commuting to work in Queen Square, you can’t beat it on a nice day. Also, how close we are to the countryside, which has encouraged us to set up the walking club, where we can really enjoy what is on our doorstep here in Bristol.
